My FAVORITE book of the series! Hands down my favorite! I’ve been dying for Jackson and Kiera’s story from the beginning so I knew this book would be one I devoured in one sitting.
I know the blurb says it’s a complete standalone, but I think you really feel the slow burn and angst if you read the previous books in the series first……just sayin!
In the previous books, Jackson came across as a carefree playboy chasing cheap thrills and ignoring the fact that an amazing woman was right there in front of him the whole time. But I knew...I KNEW there was more to him than meets the eye and this book proved that. He’s my favorite Bishop. He’s caring, kind, loyal, playful and selfless-in an idiotic kind of way lol. And he’s a Bishop so duh, he’s sexy AF.
I loved the way this story was written. Kira and Jackson have so much history and we needed to see parts of their past to really understand how they got into the situation they were in. Sometimes those moments crushed me but I kept telling myself “they’ll get it together.” I don’t want to give anything away but I’ll tell you, as with any Kennedy Fox book there’s crazy drama that will have you gasping. There’s lovey moments that will make you want to hug these characters... there’s all the steamy moments that you expect from a Bishop boy! And of course there’s that family love and banter that you can only find in the Bishop family. It was the perfect end to an awesome series.

Where do I even start?! Let’s start from the beginning. I’m talking all the way back to book one of this series, Taming Him, where I stated I don’t do cowboys but I’ll easily do Kennedy Fox cowboys every d*** day of my life. This stayed true through each book of this series and was blaring in the forefront of my mind throughout my entire read of Keeping Him.

I didn’t want it to end. Simply because it’s the end of something that started years before these characters realized their world doesn’t spin without them in each other’s lives (my life included). It’s the end of something beautiful and irrevocably unfathomable because my mouth couldn’t be picked up off the floor the entire time. I yelled, I gasped, I DID THROW MY KINDLE FOR THOSE ASKING (side eyes), I laughed, and I cried because hallelujah the meaning of the book is IT’S ABOUT D*** TIME!

Jackson and Kiera’s story was one the whole world needs to witness. Yes there are thousands of friends to lovers reads out there, but not like this. Not one of this magnitude. Not one where your heart beats for everything these characters put EACH OTHER through. You’ll never not root for them, which is something they always deserved.

Let’s be honest, I have been sitting on the edge of my chair with a nervous shake in my leg just WAITING for Keeping Him to come out. All throughout the series, we have known that there was something there between Jackson & Kiera. Jackson has always been the play boy Bishop brother and everyone in town knows him for his never ending revolving door of flings, his flirting and his undeniable charm. I was so excited to get into his head and see the way he thinks, why he does the things he does and what has happened in their past that has lead them up to this moment. Keeping Him was a slow burn so torturous, there may have been some “I’m-going-to-throw-my-kindle-out-the-window” moments but oh my god it was just too damn good to stop. I had to know what happened next, I had to see Jackson finally give in to his feelings and I had to see Kiera grow a back bone and it was too effing satisfying when it all came to light! It all happened so perfectly and I couldn’t be happier with the way everything wrapped up with this nice little bow on top. Kennedy Fox has a way of writing books and characters that just get to you and you can’t help but root for them and squeal in delight when things finally go your way! Keeping Him was the perfect conclusion to the Bishop brothers series; filled with southern sass, flirty cowboys and happily ever afters!

Last man standing and it’s totally fitting based on his character. Party guy, trouble maker it’s only right that he’s saved for last.

The buildup for his and Kiera’s story has been brewing and Kennedy Fox does a brilliant job of having us salivating for this book.

I knew that I would be put through the ringer with this one. I mean these two have danced around each other for years and it was expected that their relationship would be complicated to say the list. Best friends that secretly want one another, come on you just know it’s gonna be a roller coaster of a book.

And it is, the first half literally has me wanting to scream, yell and smack all of the main characters in this one. It’s got me engaged, entertained and all riled up and I love that wok a book. It’s one of those books that will have you saying for the love of god get your shit together lol.

This is a bit of a slow burn and I think that’s the only way that this book can be. There’s so much that needed to happen in order for these two to figure it out so to speak. I’m don’t want to say too much more without spoiling this one except that there’s ups and downs and Jackson and Kiera are one of those couples that deserve their HEA.

A great read that will take you through a whole lotta WTF but in the end you’ll love the journey.
